To finally tackle a task you have been putting off, set the timer for 15 minutes, start, and see how far you get. Good chance you will get over your resistance and be able to continue, maybe even complete it. At least you will have a start.

Make it a habit to take 10 minutes to pick up a little bit, set out clothing and needed items for the next morning before you go to bed. Morning will run much smoother.

When you have serious housework or active tasks to do around the house, put on your shoes, preferably shoes that are athletic/activewear type. Strangely enough, gives you focus and spring to your step.

Get a library card. When you become aware of books you want to read, you can reserve them through your library for free. There are many more services the library offers- just go find out about them.  The public library is a treasure.

What are your thoughts about "making the bed" in the morning? I heard it good psychologically, but I'm not sure why or how.

Also, I recommend setting standing  Smile

Setting the timer for perhaps 30 to 45 minutes of standing time. Make no plans.

(I realized, 99% of a person's time in a house is either sitting or laying down. People normally only stand to move to the next sitting/laying area.)

If you're forced to stand, even with no plans, you'll see your own house in a different way, and you'll find yourself operating in a domestically productive manner.

Now, timer standing with shoes; now heck, you may even want to go outside!

I'd like to draw up a list of how to automate mornings. Stay tuned.

The thing I've been thinking about making the bed is that I actually think its better to (somehow/somewhere) hang the sheets / covers, let air circulate around them. Pillows too.
But that conflicts with the whole

Why couldn't the music start automatically?

If you can automate mundane morning tasks, then create a ritual of morning self-empowerment during the time the automation operates.

Like exercise. Or a meditation of mind clearing...or meditate on thankfulness, perhaps. I don't think you can do wrong.
